In this powerful and heartfelt episode, I sit down with Melissa Goldstein—an extraordinary woman who brings deep wisdom, resilience, and perspective to the mic. While she may share a name with another past guest, her story is uniquely her own.

Melissa wears many hats: she’s a wife, mom of two, lawyer, adjunct professor, yoga and Pilates instructor, and a woman with a heart for service. A cancer survivor—but not defined by it—Melissa shares how her diagnosis at a young age during the pandemic shook her world, especially after always prioritizing her health.

Through her journey of surgery, chemo, and radiation, Melissa learned the importance of self-advocacy, especially in the midst of a chaotic and uncertain time. She opened up about how cancer changed her physically and mentally, and how she chose gratitude over bitterness—focusing not on “why me?” but on “what now?”

Now, Melissa is turning her pain into purpose through her growing venture, MHG – Road Back to You. She’s dedicated to supporting others on their cancer journey—whether through tailored yoga and Pilates training, advocacy coaching, or simply reminding them that joy is still possible. Her mission is to help others reconnect with themselves, even when life looks different than expected.

Melissa’s vulnerability, strength, and her grandmother’s timeless wisdom—“if the door isn’t open, there may be a window”—invite us all to reconsider how we view life’s pivots. Much like my family’s journey with Nathan, Melissa reminds us that just because something can’t be done the way we planned, doesn’t mean it can’t be done beautifully in another way.

This episode is a moving reminder that we have the power to choose gratitude, to adapt, and to keep going—not just for ourselves, but for those who come after us.
